Reason for being auctioned - Replaced

Sailing certificates have expired so must be towed (buyer would need to get a towing certificate)

Ship not to be used for ongoing sailing or trade, can only be considered for recycling / scrap or in a static application

Buyer must provide evidence they will do an environmentally acceptable breaking of the ship

Vessel is layed up at our Maintenance Facility in Richmond BC

Maintenance:
All equipment was maintained to acceptable industry standards on an ongoing basis but are now expired.

Known issues:
1. Vessel had experienced periodic leakage of hydraulic oil from controllable pitch propeller hub.
2. Vessel has hazardous materials from new build and operations that must be managed in accordance with environmental regulations, known materials include: asbestos, diesel fuel, petroleum based lubricants, wiring and insulation products, paints, refrigerants, and other chemicals for proper operation.
3. Full known listing can be provided on request.

Two (2) of the Three (3) generators have been removed for other fleet requirements.

The successful proponent needs to ensure that vessel recycling is to generally comply with all the relevant guidelines, including for the avoidance of doubt but without limitation the 2012 Guidelines for Safe and Environmentally Sound Ship Recycling, the 2012 Guidelines for the Authorization of Ship Recycling Facilities, the Hong Kong Convention, the 2015 Guidelines for the Development of the Inventory of Hazardous Materials.

The winning bidder and British Columbia Ferry Services Inc., BC will agree to a removal time frame when the removal date has been confirmed.

The Buyer will make all arrangements and perform all work necessary, including packing, loading and transportation of the property.  No Assistance will be provided.

ALL pickups will be scheduled Monday to Friday during business hours. No weekend pickups are available.

A: The Queen of Burnaby is currently classed by Lloyd’s Register Canada. It is not a SOLAS vessel and the last dry docking was July 2016. (1/3/17 12:21 PM)

Q: Please let me know the LDT (Light Displacement Tonnage) of the vessel Not the Max Displacement as mentioned already there. I mean the weight of the vessel(only) minus any Load(vehicle,fuel,men,cargo etc) on it at the time of construction while it was still in docks. A: As per the vessel stability book, the lightship displacement tonnage is 3477.3 tonnes. The payment terms are negotiable; a deposit is required to be made with the initial bid (as per GovDeals) and the balance is due on closing (when the vessel is accepted, and title is transferred to the buyer).
