Used/See Description
Portable #2
sale listed individually with 5 posting up on
GovDeals.
These portable classrooms are wood-constructed and built in 1988 or 1989 by NRB Inc., are of the same design
and sold in an "as is" condition. The exterior dimension is 24' x 32’, and all have had extensive preventative
maintenance and were renovated within the last
ten years and are currently in use at schools.
The electrical panel has a 100-amp breaker panel, and the heating/ventilation is provided by a rebuilt Temspec
unit heater/ventilator. Lighting is T8 fluorescent
lighting.
As school is functioning, portables will need to be viewed after regular school hours, in which case, you will need
to take out a Permit from the TCDSB Permits
Department at your expense. You can apply at newpermitbooking@tcdsb.org. It will be necessary to book an
appointment to view the portable at a specific
school; or you may view identical portable classrooms at the Board’s maintenance and storage yard located at
45 Norfinch Drive by contacting David Domet
via email at david.domet@tcdsb.org, the sole contact for any questions or appointments.
The Board will undertake the electrical disconnection of the portable classrooms. The purchaser is responsible
for the full cost of relocation of portable classrooms off site and the complete clean-up of the ground below the
portable from garbage or debris. Any
damages to the site will be the responsibility of the purchaser who is responsible for all costs to remove the
portable from the site including a $2,000,000
liability insurance policy. The Board recommends that the purchaser use the Board’s classroom relocation
contractor whose information will be provided. The
price for the relocation will be negotiated between the buyer and hauler. If the buyer wishes to use another
contractor, the buyer must present the Board with
proof that the proposed company moves portable classrooms as its core business and moves portables on a
regular basis for other publicly funded school
boards in southern Ontario. Approval of this mover is at the sole discretion of the Board. Further, the Board will
require a certified cheque in the amount of
$10,000.00 for any moving contractor that is not the Board’s contractor of record and will provide the cheque
back when the portable is off site, and the site is
left clean to the satisfaction of the Board’s representative. No other contractor without both provisions will be
accepted. Said contractor MUST be licensed
to operate wide loads in the City of Toronto with full permits submitted to the Board upon request. Said
contractor must provide proof of insurance policy
satisfactory to the Board. The Board reserves the right to reject any portable move contractor that it deems not
competent to meet its standards.
Note: The Toronto Catholic District School Board through various testing declares that Asbestos Containing
Materials are present in mastic on the exterior
between the steel roof panels.
Ownership of the portables will transfer to the buyers on the specified closing/delivery date sometime from the
beginning of July 2023 to the end of
September 2023. The Board will confirm the exact closing/delivery date closer to such time. No guaranteed time
of delivery will be provided. Purchaser is
responsible for all costs to remove the portable from the site including a $2,000,000 liability insurance policy.
